ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- After traveling the world to play basketball, a former Lobos says he is home to stay.

Daniel Faris' last basketball stop was in Lebanon.

"A little different, but honestly after a year or two I got more used to it, and it really grew on me-- right there on the Mediterranean surprisingly enough, they love basketball," he said.

Faris played for both Ritchie McKay and Steve Alford but it was Alford that changed his future in the game.

"I love Coach Alford," he said. "When he came back, he took all his former players out to lunch when Nevada played UNM here. It meant a lot to me personally and to the other guys.

Faris now works for a medical supply company, and after four knee surgeries, he says his basketball career appears to be over. However, he stopped short of saying he was officially retired.
