ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico United's Daniel Bruce and his teammates have created a running group in the Duke City called Good Blokes Jogging.
The group aims to empower the community to live a healthy lifestyle.
"Good Blokes Jogging started as simply a couple of guys coming together for a jog, and as we came out of COVID and the lockdown time, we really thought, 'Hey this has been so good for us to be able to get outside.' Groups got bigger and bigger and bigger, and we ended up saying, 'Hey, we need to start opening this up to the public.' Encourage people to come together, jog together, be healthy and really help one another to a better well-being," Bruce said.
The first event took a team effort. Andrew Tinari and Kalen Ryden helped organize the event and even took some pictures.
Other teammates and coaches hung out and jogged with dozens of Good Blokes on a beautiful Sunday morning in Albuquerque.
"We have to say a huge thank you not just to everybody who sacrificed their Sunday morning to turn up for the health of the community, but also for the owners here of Old Town Farm Bike and Coffee Linda Thorn and the head chef David Reyes. Incredible people who are committed to the well-being of this community and this place," Bruce said.
