Isotopes players make All-Star squad

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The Albuquerque Isotopes are sending players to the All-Star Game.


Outfielders Yonathan Daza and Sam Hilliard were named starters of the upcoming Triple-A All Star Game.

Daza is leading the PCL in batting average.

"Obviously, for me it's a great experience,” Daza said. “I enjoy a lot to be in the All-Star Game and I want to say like thank you to the fans who support me and give me the chance to play this year in the All-Star Game."

Hlliard earned his way onto the All-Star team with a team best 20 home runs, 14 stolen bases and 61 runs.

“It's definitely a good thing to have on the resume,” Hilliard said. “I was fortunate enough to make it the last four years, every level that I've been out so it was a great achievement for me.”

Hilliard and Daza join Pat Valaika as All-Star selections. Valaika currently playing with the Rockies.

The game takes place July 10 in El Paso.
