ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Jerrick Reed II had a productive debut season with UNM football last year with 51 tackles and an interception.

The Mississippi native enjoyed his first experience at the Division I level after transferring from Northwest Mississippi community college.

"Speed of the game," said Reed II. "I'm taking that with me. The physicality of actual Division I players besides my teammates—it's different, so I've been in the weight room been working at home doing extra stuff, so I can prepare when it comes Saturday nights."

The Lobos open the season Oct. 24 at Colorado State.
