ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — UNM Women’s soccer kicks off their new season against Texas Tech Aug. 25.

For the first time since 1983, there will be no men’s soccer at UNM. The program was eliminated by the Board of Regents last year.

Lobo women’s soccer head coach Heather Dyche said the team is determined to carry on their legacy.

"It's not fun. We miss them a lot,” Dyche said. “It’s been a different environment for sure, so we're going to work hard to make sure the soccer community has somebody to come and be proud of."
