ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—UNLV held off the Lobos to win 78-73 on Saturday.
Makuach Maluach led the team with 19 points.
Corey Manigault had 17.
Zane Martin finished with a season high of eight assists.
Turnovers in the final minutes resulted in the Lobos fifth loss in the last six games.
The Running Rebels attacked the Lobos inside with 58 points in the paint.
“It's like probably the first time in a while we were just flat and I thought there were times where we kind of worked our way through it but we just couldn't get there consistently enough,” said head coach Paul Weir.
“As a team we just weren't fully committed on the defense end. You know, a couple guys' shots wasn't going in. We was worrying about the offense. We should've been more focused on defense but that happens though,” Zane Martin said.
The Lobos will play the University of Nevada on Tuesday.
