ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- As the Lobos prepare for nationally-ranked San Diego State, a new face showed up to practice.

Bayron Matos, a 2020 commit, suited up Monday.

Coach Paul Weir has not decided whether Matos will red-shirt or play right away.

Matos, a 6’8” forward, finished high school recently in Tennessee.

“It is his decision at the end of the day,” Weird said. “I'm trying to provide as much guidance on what a good decision might be. I'd be lying if I said I think he probably should read-shirt but he's excited."

JaQuan Lyle, who has sat out two games with a knee injury, practiced on Monday. It’s still not clear if he will be ready to play Wednesday.
