MLK Invitational wraps up for UNM track & field

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—The Lobo track & field team wrapped up the Dr. Martin Luther King Collegiate Invitational Saturday.

The team snagged three wins across two different events—the mile and the men’s 4x400 relay.

Lobo Kristian Uldbjerg Hansen and Alondra Negron swept in the mile event. Hansen finished with a time of 4:13.87, setting the record for the fastest time in the Mountain West this season. Negron finished with a time of 4:52.27, which was 3.78 seconds ahead of the next runner-up.

UNM finished the 4x400 relay in 3:12.97, beating out UTEP by 1.72 seconds. The team won the same relay last season against opponent USC.

The Lobos’ next home meet will be Saturday, Feb 1.
