ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—With eight matches left in the season, New Mexico United is knocking on the door of the playoffs. United is one spot away from securing a postseason berth.

Sunday they took on the Oklahoma City Energy Football Club.

Former Lobo Devon Sandoval got the game going with a bicycle kick, knocking in one of his two goals.

In the second half, Chris Wehan scored another goal.

United won with a final score of 3-1.

This win puts them in 9th place in the Western Conference.

United will play the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on their home turf Sept. 14.
