Their opponent, Sacramento Republic FC, announced Monday they will join the MLS as an expansion team in 2022.

United and Sacramento split two meetings in the regular season and now they will square off with the season on the line.

"It's up to us. We should expect to win it and it's going to be hard. We're going to have to focus, we're going to have to look at where they’re most successful and where they're vulnerable just like they're going to be doing for us,” said United’s Justin Schmidt.

"We're confident. We're going in on a high note obviously and they lost their last game so we feel like it's a good opportunity for us to move on,” Josh Suggs said.
