ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Zane Martin is adapting to various roles for the Lobos.
He’s come off the bench to become a starter.
On Saturday, Martin played a season-high 32 minutes in the Lobos win over Air Force.
He scored 18 points, one shy of his career high.
Zane said he worked through breathing issues to help UNM stay undefeated at The Pit
“My team just needed me,” Martin said. “I was diagnosed with asthma when I got to New Mexico, so sometimes with that pit my chest gets real tight.”
Coach Paul Weir said Martin is a great guy to have in the rotation.
“He's just a smart basketball player,” Weir said. “He's a great defender.”
