Chris’s investigations have exposed lawmakers who swapped votes for favors, outed politicians who abused their power for personal gain and shed light on dark money in New Mexico politics. Chris’s reports have shaped state laws and have focused on making our community a safer, better place to live and work.

Chris's reporting has earned numerous awards including New Mexico Broadcasters' Association "Reporter of the Year" in 2013 and 2015 and “Investigative Reporter of the Year” in 2017 and 2018. Chris earned a regional Emmy ® for his live reporting and has also been recognized for his political coverage, his ability to cover breaking news and for his continued coverage of problems plaguing our state.

Chris also worked at KOAT-TV and served the City of Albuquerque for two years as the mayor's communications director. He's also reported in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and El Paso, TX. Chris earned his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from New Mexico State University and his Master's Degree in Public Administration at the University of New Mexico.

New Mexico is definitely home for Chris, but he’s also passionate about learning about other cultures and taking in world history. Chris’s time away from the newsroom usually means he’s exploring a reef scuba diving, finding the best foods in foreign countries or forcing his family to drop into landmarks, sites, and buildings written about in history books!

Chris is always looking for issues to report on and new adventures. If you have ideas, he’d love to hear from you!
