ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The New Mexico Attorney General's Office is warning New Mexicans about scammers who are posing as state employees.

Attorney General Hector Balderas issued a scam alert Friday saying scammers are calling from phone numbers that are showing up on caller IDs as "New Mexico State Government."

Tipsters told the AG's office that when they answered the calls, they received instruction to call a toll-free number and when they dit, they were connected to a so-called "debt relief" company, "Credit Financial Solutions."

Anyone who has encountered this scam or others should file a complaint on the AG's website here, or call 1-844-255-9210.
