SANTA TERESA, N.M. – A manufacturing company is expanding to southern New Mexico and bringing with it more than 120 new jobs.
Corrugated Synergies International, or CSI, chose to set up shop in Santa Teresa, beating out locations in Nevada and Texas.
“We’re proud to welcome another large-scale employer and investment to Santa Teresa,” said Economic Development Secretary Matt Geisel. “When we work together to make New Mexico more business-friendly and invest in our critical infrastructure, we’re able to help attract new businesses and help our homegrown companies thrive.”
The company, that is a leader in sheet feeding for the corrugated cardboard industry, plans to invest more than $31-million in the new facility.
The New Mexico Economic Development Department will invest up to $1 million in the expansion. The money will come from the Local Economic Development Act that is a tool that recruits new businesses and helps current businesses expand and thrive.
"When we create a business-friendly environment we attract companies, like Corrugated Synergies International, that make an incredible difference in our communities by creating good jobs for New Mexicans," said Gov. Martinez.
Talks of the company coming to New Mexico started when Governor Martinez visited CSI’s corporate headquarters in Washington to talk about the benefits of expanding to the state.
