Wells Fargo expands homebuyer assistance program

RIO RANCHO, N.M. – Wells Fargo is looking to help 400 New Mexicans buy a home.

Officials announced a $4.6 million expansion of the NeighborhoodLIFT Program. The program provides down payment assistance grants of $7,500 dollars to potential homebuyers.

Program officials say it helps give the economy a boost.

"We want to help strengthen the community," said David Hockmuth, Wells Fargo's New Mexico region bank president. "When the economy is healthy and well, the community is well."

The grants will be given on a first come, first serve basis at a NeighbohoodLIFT event June 1-2 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Click here for more information.
