ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Eldorado boys basketball team still has a couple more days until their opening-round game of the state tournament.

The Eagles earned the No. 1 seed in Class 6A. They will host Piedra Vista on Saturday.

Eldorado is 23-2 on the year. All five of their starters -- Kameron Valencia, Michael Muhno, Tyler Quintana, Jaylen Domina-Lovato and Tyler Rogers -- average double figures in scoring.

"They've grown up together," head coach Roy Sanchez said. "They believe in the system. They're such good friends. They trust each other, which is the most important thing.

"We knew we were going to be playing a lot and put up the numbers we did last year, like averages," Domina-Lovato added. "We knew it was going to be those five starters, and maybe a few off the bench, so we knew they were going to need a lot from us."
