High school state tennis tournament begins

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The high school state tennis tournament has begun in Albuquerque.

Class 1a-4a is playing at Albuquerque Academy.

In doubles, Jackie Taylor and Georgie Cotinola of St. Pius took on the Sena Sisters from Robertson Wednesday.

The Sena sisters moved on to play the No. 1 seed from Albuquerque Academy.

On the boy’s side, Mesilla Valley’s Nolan Nunley and Nico Daviet fell to Valenicia's Ryan Rindels and Isaac Lopez in three sets.

Corrales/Onofre (Lovington) defeats Patel/Gallant (Moriarty)
Herrera/Luna (Santa Teresa) defeats Savilla/Wright (Belen)

Other matches postponed. Will resume May 9 at 8:00 am.
