ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Rio Rancho football team is hungry to bring a championship back to the City of Vision.

The Rams came up just short in their quest for back-to-back titles last season, losing 13-28 to Las Cruces in the quarterfinals in November. Like many programs, they are getting a firsthand look at some of their players this season with some 7-on-7 action.

The preseason skirmishes are an important part of the overall mission.

"It helps a lot. We really mold as a team during 7-on-7s because it brings us together," one player said. "We can't do a one-man show."
