Sandia HS baseball team leaning on young talent

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The Sandia Matadors are red hot.

The baseball team is 13-6 overall and unbeaten in district.

The matadors have young talent that has stepped up since the district season rolled around.

“Last year, we had a much older group, a lot of seniors,” said coach Chris Eaton. “We knew we had a really young group behind them. [We] weren't sure that they were ready this year to go ahead and compete so we took a chance.”

The Matadors take on Rio Grande on Saturday.
