West Mesa HS no longer winless after victory over Rio Grande

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – West Mesa took on Rio Grande Saturday afternoon in a matchup of underwhelming programs.

The Mustangs entered the game 0-3 in 2018, while the Ravens were coming off their first win in years. West Mesa took advantage of a first-quarter interception off the Ravens' Aaron Pavia, as Mark Gutierrez hauled in a 29-yard pass for the touchdown.

West Mesa defeated the Ravens 37-18 for their first win of the year.
