ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- With first place in district on the line, the West Mesa High School football team will take on Atrisco Heritage this Friday night.

Regardless of the outcome, West Mesa head coach Ron McMath believes they could get two teams from their district into the playoffs.

"We've beaten some teams, but Atrisco's beaten Sandia, beat Onate. We beat Piedra Vista, beat St. Pius, so we've had some good wins outside of district," he said. "And I think that kind of gives us a leg up because some of the other districts are a little bit down."
