First TV Appearance: My grandmother once worked on the local effort to elect George H.W. Bush in Nebraska in the 90s and she was interviewed by a local station. I remember sitting in on that interview when I was a kid.

Other TV jobs/markets/stations: This is my first television gig. I previously worked as a sports reporter for the Star-Herald in Scottsbluff, Nebraska; as the staff photographer for the Alamogordo (N.M.) Daily News; and as the men's basketball beat writer/managing editor for the Daily Lobo at the University of New Mexico.

First Reporting Story: A game recap for a local summer-league baseball team in Gering, Nebraska

Favorite News Story: Covering the Mountain West Basketball Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada

Most Memorable Interview: My first big interview was with then-Nebraska head football coach Bill Callahan.

Why I'm A Journalist: I firmly believe the notion that the press is the fourth estate and it's our role to keep the powerful honest and accountable. We work for the public and ask the questions they can't.

Most proud of: Graduating from the University of New Mexico summa cum laude with a dual degree in journalism and history, minoring in political science.

Favorite thing about New Mexico: New Mexican cuisine, unique culture, White Sands National Monument

Why I fell in love with New Mexico: I grew up an Air Force brat, but my dad got out when I was in the fifth grade and we moved from Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis to Rio Rancho. This is the closest thing to a hometown I've got.
