It is 10 percent contained with 200 personnel on hand. The blaze has not crossed Highway 500 as of Sunday morning, and the road remains shut down until officials deem it safe enough to reopen for public access.

Potential storms in the area could produce rain on Sunday, but also gusty winds which could hinder firefighting efforts, officials said, adding that the focus for crews as the weekend comes to an end will be along 550 and on the southern end of the blaze.

The cause of the blaze – initially sparked Friday morning – is still unknown.
