CARLSBAD, N.M.- A Carlsbad girl, who was the subject of an Amber Alert, was found safe, according to New Mexico State Police.

The alert was issued around 1 p.m. Monday after Riley did not show up for school and attempts to contact her stepfather, Luke Talley, were not successful.

Riley was found hours later in the Brantley Lake area, north of Carlsbad. Police said she was left alone in Talley's truck. However, she was not hurt.

Talley was eventually located and arrested.
