Bosque fire burning in Socorro County

SOCORRO COUNTY, N.M. -- A 25- to 30-acre fire is burning along the Bosque in Socorro County, an official with the New Mexico State Forestry Division said Friday.

Multiple resources have responded to the fire near Bernardo in northern Socorro County. Highway 60 was shut down for a short time in the area, but is back open.

An update Friday night stated the fire, which is being called the Labor Day Fire, is estimated o be 50 acres in size and is 30 percent contained. 

The blaze is threatening the New Mexico Boys Ranch and other structures, but no evacuations have been ordered.
