Cannon Air Force Base airman killed in Afghanistan

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- An airman based at Cannon Air Force Base was killed in Afghanistan Tuesday.

Military officials said an IED hit Staff Sergeant Dylan Elchin's vehicle in the Ghazni Province.

Elchin was deployed to Afghanistan in August. His role was to advise the Ground Force Commander.

Elchin was a native of Pennsylvania.
