CARLSBAD, N.M. - Carlsbad Police are investigating a house fire as arson after police say the fire was intentionally set.

Police say the home belonged to a couple who currently live out of town but had planned to use the property as their retirement home. Unfortunately, the fire completely destroyed the home.

Arson investigators say several suspects have been interviewed and released and the investigation is still underway.

Police believe there are people who either witnessed suspicious activity or have information about possible suspects.
