CARLSBAD, N.M. - La Cueva Theater in Carlsbad was robbed at gunpoint Dec. 21. According to the police report, Marquise Elizondo and Antonio Tornabene were armed when they went inside and demanded money.

"We received a report that two male subjects entered the theater with masks on. One of them with a rifle made their way to the concession stand and demanded the money from the drawer," said Detective Balencia.

One of the suspects shot a bullet behind the concession counter. The cashier quickly handed over the money and the suspects took off.

"Two days prior, we had two robberies occur in the same day. One of them at Family Dollar, and one of them at Sally's," said Balencia

Carlsbad Police and Eddy County Sheriff's deputies determined Elizondo was behind the robberies at Family Dollar and Sally's.

"We are continuing to investigate the robberies, and are potentially looking at roles that others may have played in the robberies as well," said Balencia.

So far, Elizondo and Tornabene are both facing charges for the robbery at the La Cueva Theater. Elizondo is also facing charges for the robberies at the Family Dollar and Sally's.
