ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Joe Nanez, a 34-year-old man, was shot and killed outside his house the day after Thanksgiving.

Carlsbad police say they responded to a call around 4:30 a.m. involving a shooting.

"Officers responded and found a male subject outside the home who had been shot. Carlsbad EMS did respond to the scene and transported Mr. Nanez to the Carlsbad Medical Center where he did pass away shortly after," said Lt. Jaime Balencia of the Carlsbad Police Department

The victim's girlfriend is in shock. She says she thinks she knows who the gunman is. Someone known as the trailer park bully.

Carlsbad police say they believe Nanez may have known the person who shot him.

"We do believe that the suspect or suspects involved were known by the deceased, Mr. Joe Nanez," Said Lt. Balencia.

Carlsbad police are currently still searching for answers, in hopes of making an arrest soon.
