The company revealed it will open a new, 40,000 square foot gym in Santa Fe in 2019. It will be located at 3320 Cerrillos Road.

In addition, the company said it will invest $1 million in improvements to existing clubs.

It also hopes to open five new locations, which it said will create 500 jobs.

“We believe the New Mexico market is underserved and there is a lot of opportunity for us to have a greater impact on health and fitness locally, which is why are looking at a number of communities across the state where we can add value,” said Mark Fisher, chief executive officer of Defined Fitness.

The Santa Fe location is expected to open in either the first or second quarter of 2019.
