Doña Ana Cty hires second ever woman undersheriff; first since '98

SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO – Doña Ana County has a new undersheriff.

Liliana McDowell-Schnell is the second woman appointed to the position in the county's history, and the first since 1998. She replaces previous Undersheriff Ken Roberts, who was fired in February amid sexual misconduct allegations.

McDowell-Schnell will begin her duties April 30.
