ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – With fires burning throughout the region, it's been a busy summer so far for fire crews.

In the midst of it all, one business in Durango is reminding the public they don't have to have the strength of a firefighter in order to help—just a desire to give back to those on the frontlines.

On Saturday Crossfit Durango will host a fundraiser for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, a cause that helps families of fallen and injured firefighters.

"It kind of coincided with the five-year anniversary of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, who lost their lives five years ago in a fire that was just right outside of their hometown of Prescott, Arizona," said Jenna Reily, an instructor at the gym. "Being that's my hometown before relocating to Durango, it's something near and dear to my heart."

The gym's goal is to raise $1,000 on Saturday, through classes held throughout the day, as well as a barbecue.
