EDDY COUNTY, N.M. - Eddy County employees will soon be seeing a boost in pay.

According to our partners at the Carlsbad Current Argus, the Eddy County Commission approved a 10-percent increase for all county employees Tuesday night.

“Ten percent across the board is huge,” District 5 Commissioner Susan Crockett told the Current Argus. “We need to give back to our employees.”

The county uses a step system that increases pay based on a longevity in a grade and position. County commissioners are hoping the increase in pay will boost employee morale.

The pay raise will go into effect September 23.
