According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, a criminal complaint shows 67-year-old Johnny Chacon admitted to placing the recording device in his neighbor’s home.  Police say the woman was changing out the cartridge in the plug in when she noticed a blinking blue light inside.

Officers were called to the home and discovered the camera system and a memory card with four videos on it including footage of a man who appeared to be installing the camera.

The woman told police she had known Chacon for a long time but did not think he had ever been inside her home.  A detective wrote that Chacon had obviously been inside the woman’s home because he knew the exact size and color of the air freshener to purchase to make sure it matched the one she had.

Chacon was arrested but has since been released on an unsecured bond of $2,500, with a GPS and an alcohol monitor.
