Facebook cancels collaboration with Spaceport, Journal reports

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Spaceport America has lost Facebook as a potential client for a massive drone project, according to a report in the Albuquerque Journal.

The Journal reports Facebook had considered testing the drone with a wingspan the size of a Boeing 737 in New Mexico. But on Wednesday a Facebook engineer announced all current efforts to build the drone were canceled.

It would have provided greater internet access to underserved communities.
