April Browne’s family says she was one of the three people killed near Dixon Wednesday.

Her sisters and brother say she lived in the house, on New Mexico Highway 580, that is now the center of a homicide investigation.

They were shocked when they got the news.

“I was on a walk with my wife in Maine and I just had to sit down on the sidewalk. It either feels like a bad dream or a bad movie. You don't expect that to be your story. We didn't expect that to be our story,” April’s brother said.

April’s family says she was addicted to drugs and they believe that likely had something to do with the crime.

“The thing is when you're dealing with that lifestyle, you're dealing with people that are not going to be the best kind of people,” said April’s brother.

Police have not confirmed a motive in the crime. They also haven’t released the names of the other two victims.

The two suspects were arrested Friday night.
