One dead, one injured in Farmington double shooting

FARMINGTON, N.M. - Farmington Police are investigating a double shooting that left one woman dead and another hospitalized.

Police were called out to the 1100 block of South Bowen early Wednesday morning in response to a shots fired call.

Minutes later, 911 received a call from the San Juan Regional Medical Center security reporting that a woman with a gunshot wound had been dropped off at the emergency room. 

Police say 24-year-old Francine Delgado had been shot in the lower back. She later died at the hospital.

A second woman, 28-year-old Rebecca Jacquez, was then dropped off at the emergency room with a gunshot wound. She was treated and released.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information should call Farmington Police detectives at 505-599-1005.
