FARMINGTON N.M.—Last November was not an easy month for Clancy's Irish Cantina. An electrical fire destroyed almost everything.

“All my employees not having jobs overnight— that was a big weighing factor on me. Plus the building has been around my entire life, so I said it’s like losing a family member," said Lewis McMullen, general manager of Clancy's.

The owners knew it would take months to reopen, and now the time is finally near. They've been slowly rebuilding, but the road to get there has not always been the smoothest.

“You know we were roofing about a month ago and we kept getting all these storms coming through, so we had to postpone where we were at, so that pushed us back a whole bunch, and then also we’ve had a nightmare scenario with the equipment coming in and stuff like that," McMullen said.

New equipment is set to arrive this week and the owners hope to be ready for reopening this month. As for employees, most of the original staff will return, but they are still looking to hire more help.

There's no set date for a grand opening just yet, but Clancy's will update the community as soon as it's official.

“We're super excited and grateful to come back and serve our community and be there and get back to normal," McMullen said.
