Fire officials say cloud cover, Wednesday, allowed firefighters to get more make more progress on the west side of the fire. There continues to be flair-ups on the north side of the fire, but fire officials say it's surrounded by an area that has already burned, so they don't expect it to spread in that direction.

Ute Park remains evacuated and New Mexico Highway 64, between Eagle Nest Lake and Cimarron Canyon, remains closed.
