FARMINGTON, N.M. – San Juan County sheriff's deputies charged a man with nearly 300 counts of sexual abuse involving a minor.

Guillermo Jacobo-Perez faces 148 counts of first-degree criminal sexual penetration of a minor and another second-degree 148 counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, SJCSO Public Information Officer Jayme Harcrow said.

The investigation uncovered the alleged abuse occurred once or twice a week for 37 months, Harcrow said. Jacobo-Perez was booked into the San Juan County Adult Detention Center last Friday

."Detectives conducted thorough interviews and obtained enough probable cause to arrest and charge Mr. Perez," she said.
