ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Gas prices are down across the nation and in Albuquerque this week, after a steep increase averaging 42 cents a gallon earlier in June.

The new average for regular grade gasoline stands at just under $3, while the average for New Mexico is at $2.87, which ranks in the middle of the pack for all states. But experts are warning that reprieve on your bank account won't last long.

The increase of output of oil wasn't as much as Wall Street had anticipated. As a result, pretty soon commuters should expect the price at the pump to start rising once again.
