The New Mexico Department of Agriculture held two hearings for just that purpose on Monday. Now two eastern New Mexico cities will be able to give their input.

The first Tuesday hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. in Portales at the chamber of commerce's basement classroom, located at 100 South Avenue.

The second hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Carlsbad at the River Walk Recreation Center off River Walk Drive.

The state is looking at proposed rules to establish the licensing, inspection, sampling and testing requirements for hemp in New Mexico.
