ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – With summer temperatures soaring and touching triple-digits in New Mexico, it's more important than ever so far this year to stay hydrated and shaded.

It's also important to take precautions to ensure your cell phone avoids heat damage. To prevent it from overheating, never leave your phone in your car or your pocket when it's as hot as it is this weekend.

If it does become overheated, enable your phone's airplane mode or stop using it altogether until it cools down. Refrain from charging it in direct sunlight; instead, opt for shade and, when in doubt, always leave it in a cool area.
