Inmate escapes from holding cell in Torrance Co.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Torrance County Sheriff's Office is warning residents in Estancia to be on the lookout for a man who broke out of a holding cell Thursday.

Authorities say Kyle Eltvedt is 6’0" tall and weighs 165 pounds. He was last spotted wearing a black jacket and no shoes.

According to Torrance County Sheriff Heath White, the prisoner was being held at the Torrance County Sheriff’s Office on aggravated battery charges.

He had only been in the area for 5 days and resides in Michigan. No one was injured during the escape.

Anyone who observes suspicious activity or comes into contact with Eltvedt is urged to call 911.
