Investigation underway into officer-involved shooting in Dona Ana County

DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. - An investigation is underway Friday following an officer-involved shooting in Doña Ana County.


The investigation is being done by Las Cruces Police and the Multi-Agency Officer-Involved incident Task Force.

Police say a preliminary information shows that around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to a domestic disturbance on Tiffany Drive.

According to police, one officer had fired his weapon and one person had been taken to the hospital.

Las Cruces Police say the officer who fired the shot will be placed on standard administrative leave while the investigation is completed.

The condition of the person injured is not known at this time.
