Jason Whitt has been charged with three counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, kidnapping and criminal sexual contact of a minor in the second degree.

The assault is said to have happened in the child’s home, where Whitt was staying as a guest.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, the girl’s mother was searching for her when she could not find her in her bedroom. The child’s uncle then went to see if the girl was in the bathroom, but the door was being held shut by Whitt. The family was finally able to locate her a few minutes later in her bedroom and the child immediately disclosed that she was assaulted by Whitt.

Whitt is said to be related to the child’s father. He has been arrested and is being held without bond pending trial.

If convicted of all charges, Whitt faces up to 87 years in prison.
