The party is scheduled during a Waxing Moon, which is the transition between a New Moon and First Quarter Moon which creates for a darker night sky.

An instructional coordinator from Jemez Pueblo will be on site, sharing stories of ancient beliefs on constellations and the Pueblo's connection to the land.

The talk will start at 7 p.m. and repeat again at 9 p.m. Telescopes will be available courtesy of The Albuquerque Astronomy Society for attendees to view the night sky.

“We are grateful to The Albuquerque Astronomical Society for graciously contributing their time and expertise to this event,” said Jemez Springs Mayor Roger Sweet.
