ROSWELL, N.M. - For the second time, a jet that was once owned by Elvis Presley and his father, is up for auction.

Last year, it was purchased for nearly $500,000, and the current owners have given the public until July 27 to place their bids online.

The 1962 Lockheed Jetstar has seen better days. It’s been sitting at the Roswell International Air Center (RIAC) for almost 35 years, according to Scott Stark, Director of the RIAC.

The jet has faded paint, is torn apart in some sections and is missing one important thing—an engine.

The site states the interior has gold plated accents, red velvet seats, and red plush carpet. There is also television and a bar area.

On the auction website, Iron Planet, more than 100 people have added the jet on their watch list, but bids are anonymous.
