Doña Ana County deputies say Alexa Monet Rodriguez approached her aunt's car when her aunt returned home, telling her she "had just assaulted another woman and 'needed somewhere to kick back'" while evading police.

Later, DACSO officials say, she beat her aunt with a wooden stick. The unidentified aunt told investigators "she intended to kill her."

Rodriguez was arrested by officers and is currently being held without bond at the Doña Ana County Detention Center.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-serious injuries.
