ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- A wrongful death lawsuit claims rodeo organizers were negligent when an accident left a 15-year-old dead in a 2016 bull riding competition in the Four Corners.

According to court documents, Brandon Charley entered the junior division of the bull riding competition. However, the lawsuit claims Charley was given a bull that was sanctioned for senior bull riding events, which are more aggressive and difficult to ride.

Video shows Charley being thrown off and crushed by the bull. He later died at the hospital.

KOB reached out to the Navajo Nation Junior Bull Riders Association as well as the National Junior Bull Riding Association national directors but did not to hear back.
